I have been a happy Lonsdale patient for over 40 years, and can usually get a same-day appointment using their smartphone app. It is an excellent NHS practice with a committed professional team of doctors and support staff. I also have an annual review and several years ago with my GP's advice and support I was able to simply reverse my type 2 diabetes by dietary and lifestyle changes instead of using medication. All natural and completely free, with no drugs, no surgery and no cost!
Thank you for helping me this week. With such enormous pressure on primary care for appointments I still managed to get the help that I needed and on the way witnessed real care and courtesy from the reception staff. They must have to explain the constraints on the system dozens of times a day but each time they do it with respect, compassion and with a multitude of suggestions for other options for the patient. Thank you also to Dr Boutross who dealt with my problem is a calm and cheerful manner.
You will never get an appointment. You will need to queue from 7.30 am to get one. Good luck.
Please do something about the system where you have to get an appointment on the day. You go (in the freezing cold) pick up a ticket at 0730 and then come back at 0830 to see if you have 'won' and appointment slot or not - there must be a better way!
It is reassuring to know that the practice has achieved Outstanding in its CQC review on mental health and Good in all other areas.
